Ask in Faith
When life feels uncertain, and we don’t know where to turn, James 1:5-8 is such a powerful reminder:
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.”
This verse speaks to me deeply because it reminds me that God wants to provide us with the wisdom we need. But there’s one important part: we have to ask in faith, without doubting.
God isn’t holding back.
He isn’t waiting for us to “earn” His guidance.
He wants us to come to Him openly, trusting that He will give us the next step—even if it’s just one small step at a time.
When we don’t know where we’re going or feel unsure of what’s next, all we have to do is ask. But as we do, we need to believe that He will answer.
It’s so easy to ask God for guidance and then start doubting, letting worry or fear creep in.
But James is clear: doubt causes us to be tossed around, like waves in the wind. When we ask God for wisdom, we’re invited to stand firm in our faith, confident that He will provide the clarity we need.
We may not get a detailed map, but He will shed light on the next step.
So if you’re feeling lost or uncertain today, ask God.
Go to Him with full faith, knowing that He hears you and will guide you in His perfect time.
He’s already gone ahead, preparing the way. Trust Him to give you the wisdom you need, one step at a time.
